Mobility for Researchers & Visiting Professors

 

School of Education offers two kinds of mobility programs for Researchers  and Visiting Professores: the Phd post Doc program and the Research collaboration program.

 

PhD Post Doc Program 

The Phd post doc is a program supported by the Research Committee for researchers that have taken their Phd diploma within 7 years. It is an opportunity for researchers to enhance the level of scientific excellence both of the University of Sao Paulo, and their home Institution, as well as to improve their own professional development.

Projects have to be submitted within a minimum of 60 days before the starting date of the research. The internship duration ranges from six months to one year, and can be extended upon request and assessment. The program accepts full or part time researchers, with or without a scholarship (Resolution inserir link  http://www.leginf.usp.br/?resolucao=resolucao-copq-no-7406-de-03-de-outubro-de-2017 ), according to the submitted proposal which is evaluated by an Assessment institution external to FEUSP.

Research Collaboration Program 

The Collaborator Researcher is a program supported by the Research Committee that offers the opportunity for Phd researchers, whether academically linked to other institutions, to cooperate in research projects at USP. Projects have to be submitted within a minimum of 60 days before the starting date of the research.

The internship duration will be determined the research plan and it may be prolonged provided a partial research report is submitted within a year. The program accepts full or part time researchers, with or without a scholarship (Resolution/inserir o link:  http://www.leginf.usp.br/?resolucao=resolucao-copq-no-7413-de-06-de-outubro-de-2017 ), according to the submitted proposal which is evaluated by an Assessment institution external to FEUSP.

Professors who give a class, a lecture or group seminars and develop research may apply filling the form by clicking here.

Other visitors 

Foreign visitors are also welcomed to get to know our Institution as well as the programs and services we offer. We also offer training for groups of students and foreign professors about the system, culture and history of Brazilian education.

Visas:

1) International visiting Professor and Professors in post-doctoral internship  from countries that have bilateral understandings on visa exemption need a temporary Visa I (research, teaching or academic extension) for stays ONLY over 90 (ninety) days.

Otherwise, if the visitor comes from countries without bilateral agreements on visa waiver, a Visiting Visa will be required, even for stays of less than 90 (ninety) days:

The Visiting Visa will be granted to a national of another country who travels to Brazil for stays of up to ninety (90) days, without any immigration intention or to engage in paid activity, except for daily allowance, allowance, fee, pro- labore or other travel expenses. The visiting visa may be granted for travel for tourism, business, transit, artistic or sporting activities, study, volunteer work, or for participation in conferences, seminars, congresses or meetings, among other activities, – provided that they do not remuneration is received in Brazil and the stay does not exceed ninety days.

Therefore, for any of the aforementioned visitors with stays longer than 90 (ninety) days, they will necessarily need a Temporary Visa I (research, teaching or academic extension), before leaving for Brazil. For this, please consult the Brazilian Embassy/Consulate in your country. After arriving in Brazil with the visa, please follow the instructions below:

2) Postdocs who are already in Brazil, the process for visa renewal for Temporary I (research, teaching or academic extension) is another, requiring a digital certification, registration with the Ministry of Justice and Public Security and on the Migranteweb platform , for this process, read the instructions carefully.
